Principles
Core Change in the Classroom
Core change in the classroom departs from teacher-centered information delivery to learner-centered experiential education. Rather than just adding new tools or class content, it reimagines the teacher’s role as a launching point for learning that builds on students’ prior knowledge and experiences
Technology/Educational Technology Tools
Educational Technology (EdTech) tools are the strategic, integrated systems that provide the foundational infrastructure for transformative learning moving from the tool itself to the deep educational experiences it enables.
Honoring Each Educator
Honoring Each Educator focuses on shifting professional development from a mandatory “one-size-fits-all” model to a partnership-based approach that respects faculty agency and expertise, recognizing that teachers are the architect of the classroom. Our role as academic leaders designing professional development for faculty is to provide the resources and respect their need to build upon them.
External Engagement and Resources
External engagement bridges academic theory and professional reality by connecting faculty across community colleges and disciplines to create networks and communities of practice that are faculty led and faculty driven. External voices brought in through these connections provide additional support for the “why” behind what students are learning.
Internal Infrastructure
Internal Infrastructure seeks to connect the investment in the essential resources for effective instruction with a community college’s strategic plan.
